It does not exist in France magazine dedicated to leadership teaching, while at
least 5 reviews are devoted to this theme in Anglo-Saxon area. This may reflect
a French implicit tropism whereas the part of the innate outweighs that of the
acquis in this area. The reproductive system of French leaders, provide for the
great leaders of business and government is considered sufficient and effective
in the eyes of those same leaders. Meanwhile the academic journals that has
gripped management grows to follow the trend and popular subjects in Anglo-Saxon
countries, without strong and sufficient interrogation of the contexts and
social situations with a local risk of loss curiosity and creativity to its
immediate environment.
Several hypotheses :
1 - the cultural dimension of leadership is a consistent hypothesis which leads
to doubt a "one best way". There remains a doubt one way of thinking will reduce
the opportunities to understand the phenomena of leadership in its variety
2 - The methods of thoughts Anglo-Saxon world marked the primacy of economics
over social issues are at their peak. But to see the emergence of BRICS
leadership models previously promoted may be declining. Global giants holders of
other social traditions argue alternative ways of seeing the world and conduct
business. Leadership could be multi-polar. The French way of seeing the world
deserves to be distinguished and speak to the other side.
3 - The epistemology of leadership remains too be conceptualized, leading to
naturalize the course leaders and make them appear as obvious.
4 - mono-disciplinary approaches, quantitative ultra dominant in management
science push to reduce the impact of contexts and to isolate the factors in
explanatory virtues adorning. Incidentally the argument of the heroic leader
finds it strengthened.
A research program in a publication of the RIP can allow the emergence of a
critical field of study on leadership. The crystallization of investigations in
a magazine dedicated to exploratory themes and perspectives will help build
issues. We postulate that a field dealing with the leadership must be
innovative. The conditions for innovation based on the variety of contributors,
methods, angles and interdisciplinarity. Therefore the larger opening is
desired. Each contribution will endeavor to lead to practical recommendations.
Several themes can be investigated to understand the learning of leadership that
remains the focus of the research program:

• Leaders in context
• Acts of leadership
• distributed or shared leadership
• the stewardship, the fellowship and distributed leadership
• epistemology of leadership
• study the appearance and disappearance of leadership phenomena
• acts of leadership, leadership turning
• leadership and gender
• learning and teaching leadership
• emancipatory leadership
• Ethical Leadership
• the process of developing leaders
• training centers and universities dedicated to leadership development
• leadership characteristics tonic or toxic
• issues of political leadership or social
• invariants or links to a culture of leadership, a history, a time
